Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Service Representative (ATA) to support our customers within the Automotive industry by providing expert guidance on the application, troubleshooting, and optimization of our processes and related systems. This role combines technical expertise, customer-facing interaction, and hands-on project support. Travel to customer sites is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Market Support Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and prospective customers in the Automotive industry. Provide hands-on support for the implementation of our new products. Monitor industry trends, including coatings, application techniques, and application equipment. Conduct and evaluate competitive product research. Present new products and application advantages tailored to customer processes. Identify customer needs and assess market opportunities to expand our activities. Recommend and support product adjustments based on customer requirements.
Technical Application & Processes:
Plan and direct application-technology trials and documentation. Provide guidance on application equipment and process parameters. Perform application testing and optimization in coordination with the laboratory. Develop and deliver technical workshops for colleagues and customers. Produce application recommendations and document internal processes (ATA reports, sample orders, etc.). Troubleshoot application issues and support customer complaint resolution. Define application windows and instruct customer painters and application engineers. expertise on pretreatment and surface preparation.
Professional Development & Representation:
Maintain and expand technical expertise through continuous education. Represent the company professionally with customers and partners. Ensure all reports and documentation meet internal standards.
Financial & Operational Responsibilities:
Contribute to mid- and long-term profitability strategies. Maintain efficient travel planning and resource use. Support broader company projects as needed to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required. Ability to complete required hazardous waste training within 6 months of hire. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate understanding of application techniques and technical systems (nozzles, pumps, etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues independently. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive customer-service approach.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to perform job duties safely and effectively in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards. Frequent walking, standing, lifting, kneeling, bending, and reaching. Ability to mix paints and operate sprayers and other application equipment. Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day. Clear verbal communication in person and over the phone is required.
