Field Service Representative (Dairy)

Plainview Milk Products Cooperative has a 125+ year tradition in the dairy industry, serving over 100 patrons across Minnesota and Wisconsin. We supply fluid milk to retail and food service markets, as well as bulk dairy ingredients for further processing. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Field Service Representative to join our team. This role provides on-site technical support to dairy patrons, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and milk quality standards are maintained. The ideal candidate has a strong dairy background, solid mechanical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently in the field.

Position Summary:

Job Duties and Requirements:

Perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of dairy equipment and systems Ensure compliance with all Regulatory agencies Conduct preventative maintenance including cleaning, calibration, and system checks Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system performance issues Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to support accurate repairs Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of equipment at farm locations Maintain accurate service records using computer-based systems Communicate clearly with management and patrons regarding issues and recommended solutions Collaborate with milk haulers to support efficient routing and timely milk pickup and delivery Ensure compliance with all safety procedures while working with equipment and systems Qualifications & Requirements Experience in dairy operations, field service, or equipment service technician roles Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with milking systems preferred Basic knowledge of computer systems and networking (preferred) Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic Ability to work independently in a variety of farm environments Valid driver's license required Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends based on patron needs What We're Looking For Someone who is hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working directly with dairy producers.
