Job Description
The Department of Public Health for St. Louis County is looking to hire a part-time Office Services Representative to support their Emergency Preparedness Program . This position will p erform a wide range of administrative and office support functions: significant typing, data entry, and/or heavy public contact. The starting salary range is between $15.62 - $18.74 / hour, depending upon past work experience. This position will work 20 hours per week and is eligible for Paid Time Off in accordance with hours worked as well as holiday pay if they work 20 or more hours a week Be advised, this role is grant funded through June 30, 2028. Emergency Preparedness Program:
significant typing, data entry, and/or heavy public contact Provide phone coverage and direct calls by taking messages, scheduling meetings, and referring callers to appropriate personnel Monitor, maintain, and update reports, logs, lists, spreadsheets and databases. Input information from forms, applications, vouchers and other source documents using a computer, computer terminal or scanner to establish and update records Generate documents including contracts, reports, summaries, work orders, supply orders, and billings Receive, review, process, and issue vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, applications, work orders, registrations, permits, and licenses Monitor and order supplies and equipment including management of the Emergency Preparedness storage and inventory. This may require regular lifting and moving equipment weighing 30lbs or more May provide assistance or backup to other staff as needed May include assistance with grant management As this position is with Emergency Preparedness, it may require working during emergencies or high-pressure situations May include assisting with Points of Dispensing or Distribution among other potential response scenarios Perform other duties as required or assigned Equivalent to three years of professional work experience in a general office environment Preference may be given to applicants as follows: Public sector work experience High volume customer service environment Hands-on involvement in emergency preparedness activities Background in administrative or logistical support during high-pressure or time-sensitive situationsSELECTION AND APPOINTMENT
: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County. Additionally, new employees will have 30 calendar days, after their first day of employment, to attest to theirCOVID-19
vaccination status. Instructions on how to submit this attestation will be provided once employment has begun. County employees are not required to be fully vaccinated, but those who are not fully vaccinated must submit to weeklyCOVID-19
testing until they are fully vaccinated or St. Louis County geographically reaches a 70% vaccination rate and a moderate transmission level ofCOVID-19
