Job Description

1-800-Radiator & A/C is looking for customer sales reps to answer calls, place orders, fix problems like wrong or broken parts, and answer questions about the parts customers buy. About 1-800-Radiators & A/C of Mount Vernon 1-800 Radiator & A/C is the largest provider of automotive cooling products in the country and one of the largest independent auto parts wholesalers. Our products include automotive cooling parts (radiators, air conditioning, fans), fuel management parts, starters, alternators and batteries. Description Are you a goal-oriented person who enjoys talking to customers? Do you like to learn new things and be challenged every day? Are you interested in an industry that is the focus of the news around tariffs and the environment? 1-800-Radiator & A/C of Mount Vernon is looking for a customer sales representative apprentice to start immediately. You will answer calls from customers, help them identify the part they need, and arrange for the sale, delivery and payment for the part. You'll also fix incorrect orders and orders where the part breaks after it's installed. This job is in person in our Mount Vernon warehouse. We're looking for people that can work full time up to 6 days per week. You will be asked to work up to 2 Saturdays every month. This is a registered New York State apprenticeship . While working, you will take college classes at SUNY Empire, and earn college credit. You will also participate in on the job and formalized training in sales tactics. After 12 months, you will earn a raise, and a certificate from the state of New York saying you are a certified Customer Service Representative. All of this is free of charge to you and a great way to start or complete an Associate's Degree in business or communications. Responsibilities and Duties Answer calls from customers looking to buy parts, including figuring out who they are, the vehicle they are repairing, and the part that is needed to repair the car Schedule delivery of purchased parts, including asking customer for payment method, hours of shop / store, and their location Make outbound follow-up calls to convert people who called for a quote into a sale today Share customer complaints with your manager and team to improve customer service Required Qualifications Ability to speak, read and write in English Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish Ability to operate a computer and bluetooth headset Ability to work with a team of people Preferred Qualifications Experience in call center environment Experience working in a retail store Knowledge of automotive aftermarket business, especially prior work experience in automotive retail or wholesale environments Available shifts: 8:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 2:30pm Saturdays These shifts will adjust to accommodate your school schedule for the apprenticeship
