Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience in retail sales environments such as grocery stores. Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, gain retail experience, and work in a dynamic environment committed to customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries or concerns Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and attention to detail Upsell products and promote store promotions or product demos to enhance sales Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and product rotation Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times Support team members with supervising responsibilities as needed during shifts Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone Skills Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities preferred for serving diverse customers Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations Ability to upsell products effectively to increase sales opportunities Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and inventory management practices Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the team Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail sales environments is desirable Ability to demonstrate product demos when required and promote store offerings confidently Professional phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone This position offers an engaging work environment where your interpersonal skills can shine while supporting the overall success of our retail operations.
