Role:
The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely scheduling of healthcare procedures and for ensuring complete and accurate patient demographic, insurance, and order information during the pre-registration process. This role serves as a key communication link between patients, physician offices, and hospital departments to support efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. This position is for the Scheduling department.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree. Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting. Experience with patient access, scheduling, or registration systems.
Responsibilities:
Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently across departments. Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information during pre-registration. Coordinate emergency add-on procedures and scheduling changes with appropriate departments. Maintain and distribute patient orders to appropriate areas.
Skills:
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. They communicate clearly and professionally, demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to prioritize work while meeting goals and deadlines.
