- The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and displays a positive attitude when interacting with customers and employees.
- Responsible for taking money in the form of cash or credit/debit cards from patrons in exchange for goods and services.
- Scans items, provides change, balances drawer, and processes card transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives.
- Greet customers when entering and leaving establishment.
- Scan items and ensure pricing is correct.
- Maintain knowledge of store inventory and sales activities.
- Up-selling and suggestive selling.
- Promote monthly store sales programs.
- Memorize product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions.
- Take coupons and scan correctly.
- Perform basic math functions to collect payments and make change.
- Operate registers, scanners, scales and credit card/debit card terminals.
- Verifies credit acceptance by reviewing and recording driver's license number; operating credit card authorization system.
- Ask for ID when selling age restricted items.
- Issue receipts and refunds.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Change receipt paper as needed.
- Resolve amount discrepancies.
- Bag items carefully.
- Maintain a clean and well organized checkout area, Sales floor and restrooms.
- Maintain and clean Gas dispensers and outside trash cans.
- Establish or identify prices of goods and services, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
- Process returns and check to see if items are damaged.
- Answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Stock shelves, racks and dispensers.
- Return unwanted items to shelves.
- Complete all tasks on shift duty check list.
