EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR A BANK IS REQUIRED POSITION SUMMARY
Performs various clerical and administrative functions related to opening customer accounts. Explain banking services available to prospective customers and assist them in preparing forms. Ensure that all established policies and procedures are followed. Act as the Branch Manager in his/her absence. This position requires work assignments to all branches on a planned or unplanned basis. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Interview customers to explain and obtain information needed to open new accounts such as checking, savings, Certificates of Deposit, and other bank products.
  • Answers customers' questions, explain, and cross sell all available services such as deposit accounts, debit cards, online banking, express banking, overdraft protection, business account products and various loan services.
  • Compile information about new accounts, enter account information into computers, and file related forms or other documents.
  • Investigate and correct errors upon customers' request, according to customer and bank records, assist customers with account inquiries, balancing accounts, change of addresses, order debit cards, order checks, etc.
  • Process stop payments, holds, releases, and account transfers.
  • Complete application for Merchant accounts for the businesses that want to accept credit cards.
  • Type documents and correspondence to customers as needed. Process paperwork for bonds.
  • In conjunction with the Branch Manager, responsible for the administration and safe, profitable operations of the branch office, including teller operations, security, new accounts, audits, etc. Including monitoring monthly branch goals.
  • Must have wide knowledge of bank operations in order to take over branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Example:
ATM duties, opening and closing, officer calls, etc.
  • Accept loan applications within lending limits.
Maintain the necessary records for compliance on all loans.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail banking, customer service, or a financial services environment. Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role is preferred.
