6/22 Position Overview The Access Services Associate (ASA) is a remote, high‑volume customer service role supporting Penn Medicine ambulatory practices in a call center environment . This position handles patient interactions including scheduling, registration, referrals, and pre‑authorizations. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional customer service , strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a metrics‑driven environment. This is a remote position , but Day 1 is onsite at: 3535 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA (for computer pickup, system setup, and orientation) Schedule & Assignment Details Mon-Fri, 8-hour shifts between 7 AM-7 PM Shift preferences will be considered

Via Microsoft Teams Work Expectations Remote work after Day 1 orientation Must remain at workstation for entire shift Includes 30‑minute unpaid lunch + two paid 15‑minute breaks Must clear call queue before clocking out , which may require staying past scheduled end time
Call Center Metrics:
50-80 calls/day 5-6 minutes average call time All calls and computer activity recorded for QA and performance Ideal Candidate Background Experience in call centers , medical office front desk , PSR , or reception Strong customer service and communication skills Highly preferred: Working knowledge of EMR systems Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment Comfortable with medical terminology and insurance basics Key Responsibilities Schedule appointments, complete registrations, process referrals, and handle pre‑authorizations Document all interactions thoroughly in the EMR Follow department protocols and meet Access Center service level goals Communicate expectations clearly to patients regarding appointments, records, referrals, and copays Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of insurance requirements Troubleshoot phone or system issues and follow downtime procedures when needed Support service recovery efforts and escalate issues appropriately Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Associate's or Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience Intersted?
