New to Insurance? We'll Help You Get Licensed. Most agencies won't look at you without a license already in hand. We're different. If you have the right service instincts, a professional attitude, and the drive to pass the Property & Casualty exam on your own, we'll give you the opportunity and reimburse your licensing expenses. You just need to earn it before your first day. This isn't a "we'll train you from scratch on everything" situation. We're looking for people with real customer service or sales experience who want to build a career in insurance — not someone looking for any job that'll take them. If that's you, keep reading. About the Role We're hiring a Customer Service Representative for our Fort Lee office to support our existing personal lines clients — auto, home, umbrella, and related coverages. Your day is built around taking care of people: handling policy changes, renewals, billing questions, coverage reviews, and making sure clients feel taken care of every time they call. There's a cross-sell component — when you're helping a client and notice they're missing coverage, flagging it is part of doing the job well. But this is not a cold-calling or commission-only sales role. You'll have a base salary, benefits, and a structured Monday-through-Friday schedule. How the Licensing Works You don't need a P&C license to apply or interview. Here's the process: You apply and we interview you based on your experience, attitude, and fit If we extend an offer, it's contingent on you earning your New Jersey P&C license You self-study and take the exam — most candidates complete this in 2-3 weeks We reimburse your exam and licensing expenses Your first day in the office is the day you're licensed and ready to work We're not looking for people who need 6 months of hand-holding. We're looking for people who hear "go pass this exam" and come back in two weeks with a license number. Compensation Base salary plus monthly service-related commissions ($57,000-$62,000 expected first year) 401(k) with company match Health insurance Paid time off and paid personal days Paid continuing education and license renewal going forward Ongoing training and mentorship once you start Exam and licensing costs reimbursed FAQ Do I need insurance experience? No. You need strong customer service or sales experience — retail, hospitality, medical office, call center, banking, or similar. If you've spent years taking care of customers and solving problems, the insurance knowledge is something we can teach you. How hard is the P&C exam? It's a real exam — not a rubber stamp. Most people who study consistently pass on the first attempt within 2-3 weeks. There are affordable self-study courses and prep materials available. We can point you in the right direction. What if I fail the exam? We'll work with you on a reasonable timeline for a retake. But if the exam isn't something you can commit to passing, this probably isn't the right fit. Is this remote or hybrid? Neither. This is a full-time, in-office role at our Fort Lee location. Monday through Friday, standard business hours. Is this a sales job in disguise? No. You'll identify cross-sell opportunities during service conversations, and those are rewarded, but your day is built around servicing the existing book. If you want a pure sales role, we have producer positions open — ask about those instead. Is there room to grow? Yes. We promote based on performance and reliability. Strong CSRs can move into senior service roles, team leads, or sales producer seats over time.
