Manufacturing / Operations Position Summary The Technical Assistant provides hands?on technical, administrative, and customer support to the General Manager in a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in coordinating service jobs, sourcing replacement parts, processing customer orders, and ensuring high levels of quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is detail?oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Technical & Operational Support Source replacement parts for vision equipment and repair needs from approved vendors Assemble materials and components for service jobs and create accurate bills of materials (BOMs) Review and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications Assist with equipment testing, inspections, and quality checks to ensure operational standards are met Order & Repair Coordination Process customer orders from entry through completion, including: Receiving customer equipment Coordinating outsourced repairs and services Tracking repair progress and lead times Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates to customers and internal stakeholders Customer & Vendor Relations Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and vendors Handle incoming customer calls, emails, and technical inquiries promptly and professionally Resolve customer issues, vendor errors, and shipping discrepancies efficiently Support a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction Administrative Duties Maintain accurate and up?to?date vendor and customer records Enter and manage the following transactions in ERP or order management systems: Sales orders Purchase orders Inventory receipts Invoices and customer billings Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with internal processes Team Contribution Collaborate effectively with operations, service, and management teams Contribute positively to a team?oriented work environment Support continuous improvement efforts within the department Required Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent experience in a technical, manufacturing, or industrial environment Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and technical documentation Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/order management systems Excellent communication and customer service skills
