Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Cashier and Customer Service Associate, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create a welcoming shopping experience for every customer. In this role, you will be the friendly face that helps customers navigate their purchases, handle transactions efficiently, and ensure their satisfaction. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to a lively, fast-paced environment focused on delivering exceptional service and fostering customer loyalty. Responsibilities Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges while handling cash, credit, and digital payments with precision. Greet customers warmly, assisting with product inquiries, product demos, and providing knowledgeable recommendations to enhance their shopping experience. Maintain an organized checkout area by merchandising products, stocking shelves, and ensuring displays are clean and inviting. Upsell additional products or services by identifying customer needs and promoting relevant items to increase sales. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely, ensuring clear communication at all times. Assist in inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and managing product placement to optimize store presentation. Support supervisory staff with training new team members or supervising daily operations during peak hours to ensure smooth store functioning. Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; familiarity with POS systems is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings. Demonstrated proficiency in basic math and retail math for handling cash transactions accurately. Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos within a grocery store or retail environment is a plus. Proven customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and the ability to handle difficult situations professionally. Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and excellent phone etiquette.
