Also provides support to team members and promotes a professional and caring image of The Ark through high work standards. Shift & Days- Mon-Sat. Start time varies, but off at 6:30PM.
Primary Duties:
Greets clients/guests in a friendly, professional and helpful manner Provides guest check-in, assuring all paperwork is filled out correctly and completely Assists in guest arrivals by checking and labeling guest's personal belongings Verifies guest's medication(s), diet, health concerns and communicates with Pet Care Staff Verifies guest's current vaccination history, updating file and computer records Answers phone, schedules appointments/reservations, maintains and updates calendars Answers client questions, providing information on policies and procedures Assists in guest departures, ensuring that personal belongings leave with the client Assures that charges are accurate and complete Receives and documents payments by cash, credit/debit card, voucher/gift certificates/punch card or automatic debits per established company policy/procedure Ensures all services are shown on bill; grooming charges accurately reflect services performed by department Issues receipts and posts charges/payments to client accounts Counts cash drawer at beginning and end of shift, ensuring adequate change in drawer, reporting any discrepancies immediately to supervisor; runs accounting reports and prepares deposits Conducts tours of facility, answering questions about services, programs, and products Recommends appropriate programs and services, giving correct prices for services or estimated cost if length/type of service not defined at time of check-in Cleans and maintains lobby, retail area, lobby bathroom, chart room, front desk and front of building areas Performs administrative support, files, maintains records and charts Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education/Experience High School diploma or GED 1 year of animal care experience or equivalent combination Desire to work with and around animals Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, vaccination records, reports, procedure manuals, and related company forms Ability to read and write routine charts, reports and correspondence Ability to speak clearly and effectively with clients and team members Ability to read or listen and carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral or diagram form Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals Computer Skills Basic understanding of computer operations and the ability to learn industry-specific programs Other Skills and Abilities Demonstrates problem-solving ability Capable of multi-tasking Promotes professional and caring image of Red Dog through high personal/work standards Ability to communicate in clear, concise and courteous manner Physical Demands Ability to walk stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, run, climb and bend Ability to talk and hear Close, distance, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Good sense of smell Ability to lift 50 pounds Stands/walks for long periods of time Work Environment May encounter elevated noise level Exposure to temperature changes (indoor vs outdoor) Exposure to animal stool, urine, blood, dander, hair Exposure to fumes, airborne particles Exposure to cleaning chemicals
