Position Summary The Cashier is often the last team member a customer interacts with before leaving the store, making this role essential to creating a positive shopping experience. Cashiers are responsible for accurately processing transactions, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area while providing exceptional customer service. ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude. Provide excellent customer service throughout each transaction. Answer customer questions and assist with locating products when needed. Resolve customer concerns professionally and courteously. Create a welcoming environment that encourages customers to return. Cash Handling & Transactions Accurately scan and process customer purchases. Handle cash, credit card, debit card, EBT, and other payment methods. Count cash drawers and maintain accurate cash balances. Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, and rain checks according to store policies. Follow all company procedures for handling money and preventing loss. Store Operations Keep checkout lanes clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies. Assist with bagging groceries and helping customers when needed. Monitor front-end displays and merchandise. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the front-end area. Support other departments as needed during busy periods. QualificationsPreferred Previous cashier, retail, grocery, or customer service experience. Experience handling cash and processing transactions. Required Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, positive, and professional attitude. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Dependable with excellent attendance. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the workday. Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
