1000 -1800 Job Summary Accelerated, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customer Service Representative/Dispatcher to manage a variety of logistics and shipping operations while ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of freight. This dual-role position involves tracking and tracing customer freight, handling pickup requests, managing schedules, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the movement of goods, communicating with drivers, clients, and internal teams, and ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining accurate documentation and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Input shipment data into the system accurately and efficiently. Participate in various clerical duties and support other teams as needed. Track and trace customer freight, configure rates, provide quotes, and handle pickup requests. Label freight and issue proof of delivery as required. Maintain organized filing systems and ensure proper documentation. Address customer inquiries, inform them of shipping delays, and dispatch points. Provide proactive updates to customers and resolve any service-related issues. Plan and optimize delivery routes for drivers to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods. Monitor vehicle locations and delivery statuses using dispatch software and GPS systems. Troubleshoot issues during transportation, including delays, accidents, or malfunctions, and implement solutions. Create and maintain accurate schedules for drivers, ensuring compliance with hours-of-service regulations. Communicate call outs from dock workers and drivers to Management and HR. Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and internal teams. Communicate with Dock Supervisor or warehouse staff to document damages and verify freight. Ensure timely completion of all paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and regulatory documents. Evaluate driver performance and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate closely with inventory and warehousing teams to optimize operational workflows. Perform warehouse and dock checks as required, counting and verifying freight. Manage dock inventory and conduct regular checks. Adapt to changing priorities and effectively handle unexpected challenges.
Experience:
1+ year of dispatch experience or customer service experience, preferably in logistics or transportation. Basic understanding of logistics processes, freight shipping, and transportation regulations is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with dispatch software or GPS systems. Strong data entry skills and experience navigating TMS systems efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot issues, offer solutions, and maintain high customer satisfaction levels. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and adapt to changing priorities.
