Customer Service Technician Lubbock Central Appraisal District - 5.0 Lubbock, TX Job Details Full-time From $15 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications In-person customer service Employee relationship building High school diploma or GED ACH Deposits Productivity software Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description General Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Collections Coordinator, the Customer Service Technician interacts with customers in person or by telephone in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Technician receives payments, processes service requests such as exemption and rendition filing, provides information on general inquiries and resolves moderately difficult customer service issues. Technician should be especially aware that a proper professional attitude and attire is an important requirement for this job due to the direct public contact. Examples of Duties 1. Receive and post payments for taxes, penalty, interest and court costs. Other fees collected include collection penalty fees, tax certificate fees, property tax prepayments, special inventory payments, and fees for data or services provided at cost by the Lubbock Central Appraisal District (LCAD). 2. Balances till and batch receipts before deposit is made. Process checks through ACH check processing system. Responsible for securing beginning cash, payments and daily deposits at all times. 3. Receives the public in person or by telephone in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Provides information concerning taxes paid or due, values, exemptions, legal descriptions, square footage, lot size, ownership, and other general information. Directs public to other departments or individuals as needed. 4. Assists the public with setting up installment agreements, filing exemptions, renditions, address changes, and other forms as necessary. 5. Prepares correspondence such as letters, memorandums and reports using Microsoft Office applications. 6. Operates compact disk and microfilm/microfiche equipment to retrieve archived records. 7. Assists in other LCAD areas that may require assistance when normal workload permits and as scheduled by the Collections Coordinator. 8. Maintains a positive cooperative relationship with co-workers. 9. Regular attendance and punctuality. Overtime may be required. 10. Performs other duties as required or directed by the Collections Coordinator and the Information Services/Collections Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required with at least two years of cashier and/or customer service work experience. Solid computer, clerical and exceptional customer service skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional years of cashier and/or customer service experience. Appraisal district and/or property tax collection experience a plus.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
