This role offers the opportunity to help individuals achieve greater financial stability and independence while supporting their recovery and overall well-being. As a Client Budget Specialist, you will work closely with clients, treatment teams, and community partners to assist with budgeting, bill payments, benefit management, and financial planning. Through compassionate support and financial stewardship, you will play an important role in helping clients meet their basic needs and work toward their personal goals. Client Budget Specialists in this position earn $19.14-$24.26/hour . Wasatch Behavioral Health Wasatch Behavioral Health is a local government agency dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible mental health and substance-use services. What You'll Do as a Client Budget Specialist Meet with clients individually to develop personalized financial plans, budgets, and personal-needs fund schedules. Educate clients on Representative Payee Services (RPS) policies, financial best practices, and budgeting strategies. Review, track, and arrange payment for court fines, debts, and monthly obligations; communicate with courts, jails, and creditors as needed. Negotiate payment plans, settlement offers, or reduced interest rates with creditors and collection agencies. Coordinate with RPS staff to submit check requests and ensure bills are paid accurately and on time. Work closely with clinicians and case managers as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team to support clients' mental health recovery through integrated financial services. Provide supportive services such as running client errands, assisting in crisis situations, offering transportation, and responding to phone calls Assist with documentation, progress note review, and compliance with agency policies and audit requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Two (2) years of post-high-school education in social work, psychology, business, finance, or a related field OR one year of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of personal finances, counseling techniques, assessment processes, and basic teaching methods. Ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and maintain strong working relationships with clients, staff, and community partners.
Preferred:
