AED Certification Full Job Description Important Notice:
Arlington County requires all applicants to thoroughly complete each section of the application, including prior job responsibilities, duties, and supplemental questions. The Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to provide customer and facility support at Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center. The CSR will be expected to assess customers' needs, refer to the appropriate program resource, and recognize and respond to emergency situations. This position reports to an Assistant Manager.
Specific duties include:
Providing reception desk assistance to internal and external customers; Responding to questions regarding facility usage, programs, fees, rules, etc. via phone, in-person, and email; Conducting payment transactions via cash, check, and credit cards while adhering to the County's money handling procedures; Using RecTrac system for payments, program registrations, facility reservations, and to run facility event reports; Setting up/breaking down tables and chairs in Community rooms after use for meetings, events, etc; Assisting staff to ensure the center is open and closed properly; and Responding to emergency situations as appropriate by following emergency plans. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills to work with the public as a forward-facing representative of DPR by explaining rules and procedures.
Minimum:
Education:
Completion of the requirements for graduation from a standard senior high school or vocational school, a GED certificate, or the equivalent; plus
Experience:
Some experience providing administrative support.
Substitution:
Successful completion of college coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Licenses/Certifications:
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
Desirable:
Preference may be given to those with experience in one or more of the following: Front desk customer service; Working in recreation and/or a community center setting; Performing scheduling, facility reservation, registration, and payments using RecTrac or similar web-based system; and/or Extensive use of Microsoft Office Suite.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS EPI
Assessment:
To be considered for this position, you must achieve a passing score on the Employee Preferences Inventory (EPI) Assessment.
Please note the following:
If you have not taken the EPI within the past year, you will receive an email with instructions and a deadline for completing the assessment. If you have taken the EPI within the past year, your previous score will be used. Scores are valid for one calendar year. You cannot retake the assessment until one year has passed since your last attempt. Failure to complete the EPI by the deadline provided to you in email will disqualify you from this recruitment process. A pre-employment criminal records check will be conducted. It may include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You may be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Work Hours:
Monday - Sunday, hours vary between 4:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m., depending on scheduling needs, which will include at least one weekend shift, some nights, holidays, and special events. This position is not eligible for telework. The official title of this position is Administrative Assistant A. Each section of the application must be completed.
