Customer Service Cashier #6 PT 2nd & 3rd Shift

Cockerham Food Mart #6 located at 52 Farmers Market Drive Hillsville, VA is looking for 2nd and 3rd shift part-time Customer Service Cashiers. Cockerham is a 3rd generation, locally owned and operated, business providing a full line of propane and petroleum products to residential and commercial customers in Virginia and North Carolina. Cockerham also owns and operates 8 convenience stores (Galax, Hillsville, & Fancy Gap, VA), Hampton Inn and the Pizza Inn/TCBY in Hillsville, VA.

Primary Job Duties:

Provides fast, friendly, and efficient service Operate electronic cash register by ringing transactions, collecting money or processing credit card transactions Uses other equipment to process transactions such as Fuel Cards and lottery/lotto sales Check ID's for age restricted items (Cigarettes, lottery/lotto, etc.) Stocking shelves and cooler while rotating product Removes all damages and out of code merchandise from the shelves Clean all areas, using proper cleaning procedures and materials, including (but not limited to) counter tops, microwaves, shelves, floors, windows, cooler doors, food service equipment, restrooms, and parking lots Check in vendors as needed following company guidelines Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned to accommodate store operational needs

Requirements and Skills:

Must be 21 years of age or older Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance Experience in retail environment/food service preferred Reliable and accountable Flexibility with scheduling Must be able to work 2nd and/or 3rd shift
