Full Job Description Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized, dependable, and personable individual to join a senior mortgage loan officer's team as a Loan Officer Assistant / Customer Support & Processing Trainee . This is an entry-level, training-focused position for someone who wants to learn the mortgage business from the ground up. Mortgage experience is helpful but not required . The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to stay organized while managing multiple borrower files and follow-up items. This role will support the borrower, loan officer, processor, and loan file from the beginning of the mortgage process through closing.
Responsibilities:
Assist the producing loan officer or manager with daily operations and client communications. Respond to inquiries from customers, builders, and realtors during the application and processing phases. Complete and review loan applications for accuracy and completeness. Track mortgage loans through closing and provide updates to clients regarding file status and underwriting requirements. Perform administrative and clerical duties to support the loan process. Utilize internal CRM system (Total Expert) to manage client interactions and documentation. Set up files during the prequalification stage and help identify suitable loan products for each client. Order appraisals and title work as needed. Submit completed loan application files for underwriting approval. Follow up on outstanding underwriting conditions or documentation. Deliver excellent internal and external customer service throughout the loan process.
Qualifications:
Experience in mortgage lending or bank operations is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and computer proficiency. A background in finance would be strongly desired. EEO/AA/M/F/Veteran/Disability
