Summary of Role The Customer Specialist serves as the frontline liaison between Components Company and its customers. The Customer Specialist's primary role is to ensure customer satisfaction by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing product or service information. This role coordinates all customer-related activities by receiving, entering and processing customer orders. The Customer Specialist has extensive and direct customer service responsibilities including creating and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to customers' inquiries via phone, email or direct visits
- Resolves product or service issues by clarifying the customers' needs, determining the cause and offering appropriate solutions
- Monitors open sales order status to ensure on-time delivery, expediting and working with other staff to solve problems and ensure customers receive parts when desired
- Runs past due sales order report weekly, earnestly resolving any late orders
- Ensures prompt customer quote turnaround through constant communication with quoting team / estimators
- Communicates and executes all customer pricing decisions, including price increases
- Maintains records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints
- Collaborates with internal teams to escalate and resolve customers' issues.
- Closely collaborate with the Sales and Customer Support Manager with daily issues
- Provide feedback to improve customer experience and internal processes
- Communicate with quality and production departments to resolve customer issues
- Communicates with external manufacturers rep agencies
- Work within customer portals for orders and information
- Stay up to date on product knowledge, company capabilities, and company policies and system updates.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate sales processes, including forecasting, sales order entry, quoting, and other customer-specific requirements.
- Present a positive image of the company

Qualifications Education:
- College degree preferred, HS diploma or equivalent necessary
Experience/Knowledge:
- Strong working knowledge and ability to organize and analyze blueprints, bills of material, material and process specifications, and customer quality documentation
- 5-7 years of related customer service experience required. Sourcing, sales, or buying experience helpful.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems in a job environment preferred
- Project management experience desired
