Our mission is to spark and sustain connections with cycling while delivering exceptional customer service. We are an authorized dealer of Cannondale, Velotric, Radio Flyer, and Woom bikes and ebikes. Join us to be part of a company that values expertise, creativity, and community impact. Position Overview Family Cycle Works (FCW) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Bicycle Service Writer to join our team. This role reports directly to the Family Cycle Works Service Manager. Service Writers act as the face and voice of FCW's service department and help drive FCW's vision for exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Ensuring each and every customer of Family Cycle Works feels welcome, respected and supported on their cycling journey. Assess the condition and repair needs of bicycles brought by customers to the FCW service department. Provide compassionate, expert advise to customers on priorities, options and advise for repairing their bicycle. Support customers in making decisions to repair their bicycle vs. purchasing a new or refurbished bike. Accurately identify parts and accessories needed to complete service for each customer and manage creation of special orders as needed. Write service work orders that provide clear, complete, and accurate guidance to service technicians to prevent repeat calls and questions to the customer. Manage parts kept with each customer bike to ensure fast and efficient execution of service by FCW technicians. Collaborate with service and sales staff to deliver exceptional customer service and recommend solutions tailored to customer needs. Manage communication with customers after the completion of service on their bicycle(s). Engage in continuing education to stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work culture. Other tasks and responsibilities as required to fulfill FCW's vision of being Milwaukee's most beloved bike shop. Required Skills and Experience A passion for bikes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and customer service. Proficiency in diagnosing issues on bicycles. Strong knowledge of bicycle components, their inter-compatibility and resources for determining the compatibility of bicycle components. Familiarity with service techniques used on high end bicycles such as suspension service, hydraulic brake bleeding, integrated internal cable routing, etc. Attention to detail and a dedication to delivering the highest quality customer service.
