Job Description

Summary Moody High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Cyber Security Teacher to join our academic team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cyber security, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire students to explore the world of information technology and cybersecurity. This position offers an opportunity to shape the next generation of cyber security professionals by providing hands-on learning experiences and fostering critical thinking skills in a dynamic classroom environment. Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover fundamental and advanced topics in cyber security, including network security, ethical hacking, risk management, and data protection. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and growth. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in cyber security to ensure curriculum relevance and effectiveness. Organize and supervise hands-on labs and practical exercises to enhance students' technical skills and real-world applications. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate cyber security topics into interdisciplinary projects and initiatives. Provide mentorship and guidance to students interested in pursuing careers in technology and cyber security. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge in the field. Requirements Proven experience in the field of cyber security, including practical knowledge of security protocols, tools, and practices. Prior teaching or tutoring experience, particularly in a high school or educational setting, is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Familiarity with current cyber security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker) is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Passion for education and a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
