Aug 24, 2026 Job Description The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is currently seeking highly-qualified candidates for the position of part-time Dance Teacher for Amherst Regional Schools, grades 9-12. This is a .67 FTE position. We seek candidates with experience engaging, inspiring, and educating a widely diverse student body. Candidates must possess a working knowledge of different methodologies to support the success of all students. Qualifications All candidates should have a degree in dance or equivalent experience in the field as well as a Massachusetts Teacher License in K-12 dance. If they do not currently hold a Massachusetts Teacher License in the subject of K-12 dance, they are actively engaged in a prep program and registered to take the MTELS in September/October 2026. To maintain the established quality of the dance program, the candidate must be able to: Manage the dance program's materials, spaces, and schedules Collaborate with other members of the performing arts department Maintain working relationships with the Five College Dance Department and local dance studios Produce high-quality performances for a variety of venues Offer in-person and remote experiences in dance through field trips, master classes with guest artists, and opportunities to expand their understanding of the field Develop the school's dance program through the lenses of community-building, equity, inclusion, and access for all students Differentiate their teaching to meet every student's needs Existing Courses Introduction to Dance- Students learn basic positions, steps, alignment, history, and terminology in a variety of dance genres.
