Minimum qualifications:

Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 9 years of experience with electrical and mechanical systems used in an industrial or data center environment (e.g., feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)/Static Transfer Switch (STS) units, Power Distribution Unit (PDU)/Power Management Module (PMM) units, chillers, air handling units, and CRAC units). 9 years of experience with electrical infrastructure, and other mission critical facility maintenance and operational experience.

Bachelor's degree or advanced education in a related field. Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems. Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities Drive efforts to test, validate, improve, and certify new processes and procedures for critical complex equipment operation for data center domain of expertise. Lead efforts to perform compliance activities for a data center and analyze compliance results for data centers globally. Ensure regional and global teams are complying with project/schedule guidelines and Google design standards. Drive efforts to monitor data center systems operations, control site activities to minimize risk, and to ensure effective response to any excursions. Drive efforts to ensure sites are following facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while exhibiting strength in improvement to said policies and programs. Lead the development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact at a site, along with driving site-level development of programs and initiatives.
