Test Range Operations Job Description Applies working mechanical and technical knowledge to perform all phases of technical test data observation and recording in support of engineering projects. Requires use of standardized, but varied, military technical manuals. Collects field data consisting of maintaining an accurate and detailed chronological record of all test item operations and maintenance related data. From the field data obtained, prepares standardized Test Incident Reports (TIRs). Also prepares and maintains test mileage, test hours, and other summaries to track test progress. Works first, second, and third shifts as necessary to meet specific test needs. Mentors and trains other personnel to perform data collection duties. May direct a field team to provide data collection support to a specific program. Performs other duties as required to complete assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Qualifications

Educations/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least four (4) years of experience as a Data Collector, with at least two (2) of the four (4) years as a Data Collector III.

Relevance of experience to be determined by hiring manager.

Job Skills Requirements:

• Must score 85% or higher on semi-annual ECL and TIR review.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have thorough knowledge and expertise with Equipment Component Log recording (ECL), TIR authorship, and data collection responsibilities
• Must have the ability to teach entry-level employees basic data collection skills (Data Collector I, II, and III).
• Must understand and be able to use test support documents such as Test Plan, FD/SC, TIR Tracker, Mileage Tracker, TIR Scoring system, etc.
• Must be able to direct a small team to support a test program.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of all Data Collector functions and requirements per Standing Operating Procedure.

Physical Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
• Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Must be able to enter, exit, and climb on and under test vehicles of various configurations, some in excess of 10 feet off the ground.
• Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Data Acquisition Section.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

• Possess a 2 or 4-year college degree in English, Journalism, Mechanical Arts or related field.
