Data Entry Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician Job Description This role focuses on accurately entering and reviewing prescription, patient, and insurance information in a fast-paced, collaborative pharmacy environment. The pharmacy technician supports the daily operational workflow, ensures timely processing of orders, and maintains strict compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working with regulated documentation, following standard operating procedures, and using pharmacy and healthcare data systems. Responsibilities Accurately enter prescription, patient, and insurance information into pharmacy systems. Review entered data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with pharmacy standards and procedures. Support daily workflow by keeping prescription queues current and organized. Collaborate closely with other pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to resolve data discrepancies and clarify order details. Communicate with internal teams to address order-related questions, corrections, and clarifications in a timely manner. Ensure service levels and turnaround times are consistently met or exceeded. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations. Follow established operational procedures and data entry best practices at all times. Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation requirements in a regulated environment. Demonstrate reliable attendance and flexibility to support business and coverage needs, including occasional Saturday work when required. Qualifications At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience OR strong data entry experience in a medical environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Southgate, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
