Job Description
Specific Duties:
- Obtains assigned service station at start of work shift.
- Greets guests and presents them with the menu and water. Informs guest of specials and menu changes, makes suggestions and answers questions regarding food, beverages, and service. Up sells product to guests to increase revenue.
- Takes food and beverage orders from guests (either written or memorized) and relays order to kitchen staff and bartender as appropriate by ringing in all items into the micros system.
- Processes guests' orders to ensure all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis. Communicates with host/hostess, bus persons, kitchen staff, and bartender and coordinates entire station to ensure guest satisfaction with the food and service.
- Serves courses from kitchen and services areas promptly, garnishing items with proper presentation prior to serving.
- Present, open, and pour wine and serve alcoholic beverages (if of proper age with proper ID and having passed TAPS classes)
- Be able to make coffee and specialty drinks on Espresso machine
- Observes diners to ensure that guests are satisfied with the food and service, to respond to any additional requests, and to determine when the meal has been completed.
- Make sure all items are rung and guest checks are presented in a timely manner
- Present bill and accepts payment or refers guest to cashier or host/hostess as appropriate.
- Notify management immediately of a customer complaint if you are unable to handle the complaint yourself in an appropriate manner.
- Stock work station, remove and reset soiled dishes and silverware from table at conclusion of each course and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
- Maintains Cleanliness and sanitation of the front-of-the-house including all tables, chairs, high chairs, boosters, floors, windows, and booths.
- Perform shift duties as assigned.
- Be aware of safety issues-keep floors clean of water and debris. Place out wet floor stands whenever needed.
- Provide food and beverage service to meeting rooms as instructed by supervisors.
- Thanks guests as they leave and invite them to return.
- Greet to go order guests and couriers as soon as they enter the restaurant to ensure they are noticed. Double check the order to make sure all items order or in the take out container.
- Other duties as assigned Requirements to be a server: Alaska TAPS License Must be able to go up and down stairs regularly.
