Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Wednesday - Saturday 6am- 4:30pm The DC Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance on the building systems, and assigned equipment. This includes performing projects and response maintenance duties on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and finish building trades.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Schedules and performs minor electrical maintenance consisting of replacing switches, replacing ballasts and lamps in lighting fixtures, replacing motors, and performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance. Performs plumbing deficiencies consisting of repairing broken pipes, replacing pumps, valves, flush-o-meters, and seals, unclogging plugged lines, and performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance. Schedules and performs minor maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and compressor systems. Performs routine maintenance on material handling equipment to include conveyors, lift equipment, hoists, maintenance platforms, batteries, and dock levelers. This includes briefing and controlling contracted maintenance support as well as performing routine inspections for safety and equipment maintenance. Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on various appliances consisting of smoke detection systems, turn style counters, metal detectors, intrusion alarm devices, security systems, kitchen equipment, shredders, and time clocks. This includes briefing and controlling contracted maintenance support and having sufficient working knowledge of the building suppression notification panels to support this maintenance. Coordinates and completes finishing building trades which include painting, floor repairs, wall and door repairs, and other assigned carpentry projects. Installs office furniture and cubicles.

Regularly walks, stands and lifts up to 50lbs. Seldom/never sits or performs computer work.

Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
