Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a DCW - Caregiver, where your compassionate nature and commitment to quality care will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support, assist with daily activities, and promote independence within a caring environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact in our community. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal devices Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to healthcare professionals Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service in accordance with care plans Support residents with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and prescribed schedules Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and therapeutic exercises to promote mental and emotional well-being Document care activities accurately in resident records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism spectrum disorder support, and hospice care is advantageous Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required or can be obtained upon hire Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with patient monitoring and mobility assistance Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require specialized memory care is beneficial This role is essential for fostering a nurturing environment where residents feel valued and supported.
