Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting elementary-aged students as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing on a contract basis. This assignment provides a rewarding opportunity to use your expertise with a focused caseload, specifically evaluating one elementary student. Located near Pittsford, NY, this short-term role requires a commitment of 4-5 hours total, focused on a single evaluation at the elementary level.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Prior experience working with elementary students Understanding of various communication modes used by students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Strong assessment skills and the ability to write clear, comprehensive evaluation reports Sensitive, professional communication skills for collaborating with faculty and families Current knowledge of best practices in deaf education
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of one elementary-aged student in need of Deaf / Hard of Hearing services Analyze and interpret assessment data to determine the student's needs and recommend appropriate supports Collaborate with school staff and families to share evaluation results and suggestions Submit clear, timely documentation in line with school/district requirements Ensure that all processes comply with ethical and legal guidelines for student confidentiality and special education
