Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Empower students by sharing your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a supportive educational environment close to Warsaw, NC. This rewarding part-time contract opportunity—10 to 15 hours per week for the upcoming school year—enables you to make a meaningful impact in students' academic and personal growth.
Qualifications/Experience Sought:
Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Demonstrated experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Comprehensive knowledge of assistive communication technology, American Sign Language (ASL), and individualized educational planning Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with families, teachers, and support staff Flexible mindset and problem-solving abilities to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver tailored instructional programs aligned with individual IEPs Provide direct support and instruction in a variety of educational settings Advocate for accessible learning, including accommodations and modifications Collaborate closely with general education teachers and other service providers to foster inclusive classroom environments Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation of student progress Serve as a resource for school staff and families regarding auditory learning needs and strategies
