Job Description
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Plan, organize, and direct academic programs in the College in accordance with Rio's mission, vision, and Strategic Plan to obtain optimum student learning and program cost effectiveness. Establish operational policies and procedures and develop academic objectives for the College. Work with faculty committees to recruit, interview, recommend, and hire new full- and part-time faculty. Work with academic and administrative personnel to disseminate information, identify problems, monitor progress reports, and ensure adherence to goals/objectives. Evaluate the performance of faculty and support staff in the College. Advise faculty, staff, and students on problems relating to policies, program administration, and financial and personal matters, and recommend solutions. Promote and ensure excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service both in the College of Business and Technologies and at Rio in general. Manage the College's financial resources. Represents the College and the University of Rio Grande at the local, regional, and state levels as appropriate.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must possess outstanding credentials, including an earned doctorate or terminal degree in Business, Technology, or a related field (those with a Higher Education Administration degree may be considered), a strong record of teaching and scholarship, and hold a rank of full professor. However, those at the associate professor rank may be considered. Candidates with experience in industrial technologies are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective academic leadership, with experience in planning, program development, and program review. They must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a record of advocating for faculty and students, evidence of consensus-building, academic and personal integrity, and enthusiasm.APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
