Pay/Benefits:
Pay and benefits are in accordance with the teacher labor agreement - https://www.isd622.org/about/human-resources Required Qualifications Must possess an appropriate Minnesota teaching license; Special Education licensure in EBD preferred. Ability to establish and maintain high academic standards and positive working relationships with students who are academically and/or behaviorally at risk. Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with administration and colleagues. Effective communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment with fluid student needs and a high volume of information. Demonstrated ability in student behavior management and implementation of systems that promote positive student outcomes. Experience coordinating and developing an Alternative to Suspension/Expulsion program. Flexibility to support all alternative programs. Ability to provide classroom substitution coverage as needed.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead teacher for the Alternative to Suspension/Expulsion program and provide flexible instructional support in other areas as needed. Utilize strong knowledge of Special Education, trauma-informed care, community resources, and support systems to meet student needs. Coordinate and support school safety and security planning and implementation. Trained and experienced in a variety of restorative practices, behavior management, prosocial skill building and social-emotional learning to lead student intervention systems and teams. Provide support and guidance in the area of Targeted Services, Credit Recovery, and SAAPs. Collaborative work and professional development with administration, teachers, and support staff. Establish and maintain strong family partnerships through frequent communication and meaningful connections.
