Decorative Materials Technician Reports to:

Specialty Products Summary/Objective The Specialty Products Technician is responsible for supporting the production of printed and other decorative materials by creating samples, maintaining production history notes, and troubleshooting printing issues when needed. This role ensures the timely production of lab samples and supports the production floor for printed and other decorative materials. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Interpret written instructions and design intent to provide physical samples. Determine best printing method to be used based on end application and design intent. Use dye sublimation printers and lab equipment for sample development and serial production. Work with outside suppliers for printing support. Prepare sample materials in the lab in a timely and organized manner. Provide support to sales staff as needed. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Basic computer skills Prior experience in plastics or printing environment a plus, but not required Adobe Illustrator experience a plus, but not required Work Environment While performing the duties of this job in an office and laboratory setting, the employee will use a dye sublimation printer, lab presses, and other technical equipment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may be sedentary for most of the day but is occasionally required to bend, squat, climb, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Daily or weekend overtime may be required on occasion. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel Limited travel is expected for this position.
