Job Overview We are seeking a part-time weekend Deli Prep/Cook to join our vibrant food service team! In this role, you will be the heart of our deli operations, preparing fresh ingredients, crafting delicious meals, and ensuring every dish meets our high standards of quality and safety. Your enthusiasm for food, attention to detail, and culinary skills will help create a welcoming environment where customers enjoy flavorful, well-prepared offerings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your kitchen expertise while contributing to a positive dining experience for our community. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble deli items according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality. Handle food preparation tasks such as slicing meats and cheeses, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients with precision. Cook a variety of hot and cold menu items, maintaining proper temperature controls and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly. Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations. Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients. Serve customers efficiently at the counter or in a catering setting, providing friendly service and product knowledge. Qualifications Proven culinary experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings. Available on the weekends Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices. Experience with menu planning, catering, or food service operations is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
