Delivery Driver-Transportation

St. Louis County Library The Transportation Department is seeking a full-time Delivery Driver to organize and transport material to all branches and other locations to provide quality and timely Library service. The mission of the St. Louis County Library is to provide the resources and services to enrich individual minds, enhance lives and expand perspectives. SLCL is an award winning library system with branches throughout St. Louis County. We have transformed into a meaningful community resource with updated facilities and an array of programs and partnerships that serve over 860,000 patrons.

Salary:

$38,178.00

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Facilitates effective movement of Library materials throughout the Library system. 2. Maintains organization and order on delivery trucks and in the sorting area. 3. Transports and delivers various items to and from intended destinations. 4. Communicates with the Manager, Transportation so that the needs of the driver and truck are met.

Job Qualifications:

High School Diploma Valid driver's license with a good driving record Must possess a commitment to a high level of public service Must possess excellent communication and organization skills

Ability to drive a delivery van Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to stand throughout a full shift Ability to use a two-wheel hand truck and pallet jack Ability to bend to very low shelves or reach to very high shelves when reaching for Library materials Ability and knowledge to check and replace fluids and air in trucks Ability to move full totes or carts of books or other Library materials
