Delivery Driver/Material Handling

Job Summary:

The Fabrication Delivery Driver-Material Handling-Packaging Tech; is responsible for safely transporting fabricated parts to customers and vendors while supporting the plants internal operations through material handling, packaging, and shop logistics. This role supports production, customer and vendor deliveries, ensuring all materials are packaged to eliminate damage and delivered to predetermined locations. Attention to pack list and count accuracy, coupled with familiarity of shipping/receiving ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate company vehicles to deliver fabricated parts and materials to customers, suppliers, and job sites 2. Align to all DOT requirements/reporting as required, including daily vehicle inspections 3. Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks, and execute daily PM requirements 4. Build crates, skids, or custom packaging as required 5. Measure and visually inspect finished parts to the work order or print. Ability to use tape measures, gauges, and other tools to validate accuracy 6. Load, secure, and unload materials to prevent damage during transport 7. Verify both incoming and outgoing shipments against packing slips, Bill-of-Lading and delivery documents, ensure documentation accuracy 8. Label, tag, and prepare shipments for carriers (LTL, parcel, or dedicated delivery) 9. Maintain delivery schedules and communicate delays or issues proactively 10. Move raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or cranes 11. Assist with loading/unloading inbound and outbound shipments 12. Maintain accurate inventory movement and staging of materials 13. Support production teams by ensuring materials are available at workstations 14. Interpret blueprints, and work orders Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes and packaging equipment/tools 16. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S) Ensure customer satisfaction, professional, courteous and responsive Align to all company policies and procedures Quality & Safety Effectively assess projects ensuring work can be done safely prior to performing the work Ensure workmanship meets customer quality expectations (align to the print) Participate in root cause analysis for recurring defects or failures Support continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Required 1. High school diploma or GED required 2. Valid CDL driver's license with clean driving record 3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints 4. Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment (or willingness to be trained) 5. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a physical environment 6. Dependable with strong time management skills 7. Basic understanding of metal fabrication processes Strong attention to detail, safety and quality Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good communication skills and ability to professionally interact with customers, vendors and coworkers Strong willingness to learn Preferred Experience in a production setting Familiarity with lean manufacturing process improvement

Creative Thinker Pay:

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
