Dementia Trained Caregivers Homewatch CareGivers of Lakewood - 3.8 Lakewood, CO Job Details Part-time | Full-time $20 - $24 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Flexible schedule Referral program Qualifications Behavior intervention Full Job Description Experienced Dementia Caregiver (In-Home / Multiple Shifts) Role Overview We are seeking compassionate, skilled caregivers to provide comprehensive 24/7 support for a client with advanced dementia. This is a private, in-home position requiring candidates who excel in memory care, behavioral redirection, and maintaining a calm, supportive environment. We are hiring for multiple shifts (Days, Evenings, and Overnights).
Key Responsibilities Specialized Memory Care:
Provide consistent support tailored to dementia-related needs, including cognitive stimulation and safety monitoring.
Behavioral Management:
Utilize proven techniques to manage "sundowning," agitation, or confusion with patience and empathy.
Daily Living Assistance:
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene (ADLs).
Safety & Mobility:
Implement fall prevention strategies and assist with transfers or ambulation as needed.
Meal Preparation:
Prepare nutritious meals and ensure proper hydration, adhering to any dietary requirements.
Documentation:
Maintain clear, daily logs regarding mood, appetite, medication adherence, and any changes in physical or mental status.
Required Qualifications Dementia Expertise:
Minimum of 3 years of experience specifically working with dementia or Alzheimer's patients.
Training:
Verifiable training in dementia care.
Reliability:
Proven track record of punctuality and reliability, especially for 24/7 coverage.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting to family and management.
