Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline our clinic operations. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and patient comfort. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, especially in pediatric and general dentistry settings. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, utilizing chairside assisting skills. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, ensuring patient safety with proper radiation safety measures. Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic, including updating medical histories, treatment notes, and medical documentation. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist with front desk duties. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and OSHA regulations. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and dental coding practices is essential for accurate documentation. Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix enhances workflow efficiency. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and experience with medical records management are critical for success. Experience with medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners is advantageous. Certification or training in chairside assisting, radiography (X-ray), or expanded functions related to endodontics or prosthodontics is a plus. Strong communication skills combined with a positive attitude help foster a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
