We are seeking a passionate Dental Assistant/EFDA to join our growing team and make a positive impact on our patients' oral health. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and administrative coordination. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dental services by supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your enthusiasm for patient care and technical proficiency will contribute to creating a welcoming and efficient dental environment. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and maintaining an aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs of patients before procedures to ensure safety and document medical information accurately within medical documentation systems like Epic. Provide patient education on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions while maintaining a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric patients when necessary. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, filing or pulling charts when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized for each patient. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting procedures is required. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is essential for managing electronic health records efficiently. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is mandatory. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics. Experience operating dental radiography equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners will be considered an asset. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is critical for success in this role.
