Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional support to dentists and patients, ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering high-quality patient care. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about promoting oral health through excellent assistance and communication. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning while following safety standards for radiation exposure. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain procedures clearly to foster understanding and comfort. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards such as aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, managing medical records, and assisting with insurance coding using HIPAA-compliant practices. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and performing vital signs assessments. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Experience working with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record management. Familiarity with medical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and medical coding processes. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is a plus.
