Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced dentists, assist with a variety of dental procedures, and ensure our patients have a comfortable and positive experience. As a Dental Assistant, you'll be at the forefront of patient interactions, supporting clinical operations, and maintaining high standards of infection control and safety. This role will be assisting our Denturist 2 1/2 days a week in Bellingham and 2 days a week in Burlington. Mileage will be reimbursed for this role. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with all necessary instruments and materials, ensuring a sterile environment through proper aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting by providing support during procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after treatments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with dental receptionists and managing medical documentation. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Proficiency in dental software platforms like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate recordkeeping. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, patients, and team members.
