Job Description

Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the Dentist and Dental Hygienist in delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring the clinical environment remains clean, organized, and efficient. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Assist the dentist with chairside procedures and patient care Prepare and organize treatment rooms and instrument trays for procedures Clean and disinfect operatories after each patient in accordance with infection control standards Sterilize instruments and perform spore testing as required Take and process dental X-rays (as permitted/certified) Perform basic laboratory procedures Call in prescriptions to pharmacies as directed Maintain inventory and stock dental and office supplies Greet and register patients; update demographic and insurance information Answer and manage incoming phone calls Schedule patient appointments across multiple provider schedules Prepare and manage patient charts and documentation Verify insurance eligibility, including Medical Assistance (Promise) Process payments, including co-pays and balances Sort and distribute incoming mail Communicate clearly with patients regarding procedures, billing, and follow-up care Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Dental X-ray certification required (must obtain within 4 months of hire if not already certified) Previous dental or medical office experience preferred Basic computer skills required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance standards Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a busy environment Dependable with consistent attendance Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergency situations Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workflows Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment Benefits 85% employer paid Medical coverage Low-cost Vision and Dental coverage Employer paid Basic Life and Disability coverage Generous paid time off
Pay:
$16.00 - $25.00 per hour
