QUALIFICATIONS

Dental Assistant shall possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school. Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety. Shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services.

JOB DUTIES

Providing chair side assistance to the dentist during restorative, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontic, and oral surgery procedures. Operating radiographic equipment, demonstrating proficiency in radiographic techniques, processing films and properly mounting them for interpretation while demonstrating current knowledge in radiographic safety measures. Performing screening exams and charts existing conditions under a dentist's or physicians' supervision. Placing transitional restorations in emergency situations. Taking preliminary prosthetic impressions and pour the models. Removing sutures. Delivering post-surgical care for alveolitis or persistent bleeding under the supervision of a dentist. Responsible for re-cementation of fixed prosthodontics restorations under the supervision of a dentist. Assisting with scheduling patients for the dental clinic via call outs. Maintaining daily statistics of the patients seen in the dental clinic. Possessing a current and valid license/certificate from a United States jurisdiction. Scanning of medical records and reports as needed.
