Dental Assistant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting in various dental procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist the dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations using dental practice software (OpenDental software experience preferred) Take X-rays as directed by the dentist to ensure proper handling of imaging equipment (X-ray license highly preferred) Utilize 3D scanners for making impressions and assist in prosthodontic procedures Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans Support the front desk with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory and waiting areas

Skills:

Proficient in medical terminology relevant to dentistry Familiarity with systems used for managing dental records (OpenDental software experience preferred) Experience with four handed dentistry techniques to assist during procedures effectively Knowledge of general dentistry practices Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively (X-ray license highly preferred) Understanding of prosthodontic principles is a plus Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a busy environment Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members

Pay:

$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
