Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional dental treatments, ensuring a comfortable experience for every patient. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging) ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records management. Operate electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history. Provide vital signs measurements and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, especially in pediatric dentistry cases. Manage administrative tasks including answering the dental receptionist phone line, scheduling appointments, and maintaining organized medical records. Support the use of advanced technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning. Demonstrate strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure accurate documentation and communication within the team. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting or general dentistry practice is highly preferred. Proficiency with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and infection control procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Certification or training in infection control practices and aseptic technique is desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and specialists in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
