Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our dental team! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help promote healthy smiles and foster positive patient experiences. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, x-rays, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with identifying patients who would benefit from dental treatments such as fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, occlusal splints, orthodontic treatment, partial and complete dentures. Take and interpret X-rays. Adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage and update electronic medical records (EMR)

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Review documentation for accuracy, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assist with dental and medical coding for billing purposes. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license with current licensure in the practicing state. CPR and X-ray certification. Experience in dental office settings, including familiarity with dental terminology, dental and medical records management, and infection control standards. Proficiency with EMR Open Dental; experience with medical imaging and vital signs monitoring is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental and medical terminology, pediatric, geriatric, and general dentistry procedures. Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor to deliver excellent patient outcomes. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper handling of medical records.
