Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting overall oral health. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting that values professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take dental imaging such as X-rays and intra-oral photos while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories using Open Dental software. Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license with current radiology credits. Proficiency in dental terminology and infection control procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection prevention protocols, and sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with the dental team.
