Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our private dental practice in Laconia, NH. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless workflow during general dentistry procedures, including pediatric dentistry when applicable. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a private dental practice or clinical setting. Familiarity with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous for working with young patients. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding related to dental procedures. Experience in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and supporting various treatments. Demonstrated ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging accurately. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and HIPAA regulations essential for maintaining a safe environment.
